Elevation adjustmentThe DDHB includes the required hex wrench to adjust your elevation. The elevation is based upon the target movement. For example, adjusting "up" means the target moves up, not the reticle. |
Windage adjustmentThe DDHB windage can be adjust using the included hex wrench. As with the elevation, the windage is based upon the target movement. For example, adjusting "right" means the target moves right, not the reticle. |
Fade adjustment & batteryThe rotary knob serves three functions:
|
Rotary dial fade adjustment
With the rotary adjustment knob, the user can choose the brightness intensity and between red and green reticles.
The knob also contains the CR20132 battery which is included in the package for your convenience.
Set screw included for zero locking
Using the smaller hex wrench included with the package, you can set the zero lock, only if needed. *highlighted by the green circle in the right picture.
The DDHB zero set screw should only be used if the zero is not holding. If needed, you can turn it 1-2 times clockwise to further lock the zero, only if it is not holding.
The set screw should never be turned until it is "tightened". It is a free floating screw and you can risk damaging the unit if turned more than 1-2 times clocwise.
Choose between four reticle patterns
The rear switch allows the user to choose between various reticle patterns. The color options are red and green and can be chosen using the circular dial on the side
The DDHB has a slick design in a black
Installs on your rail with two allen screws (wrench included)

I have had some "value-oriented" red dot reflex sights before, and the issues were limitless: either the lens was dirty/not ground properly, or it drains the battery very quickly, or I could not adjust for windage without breaking it. The Dagger Defense red dot reflex sight does not appear to have any of those issues. The sight arrived in a very nicely packaged sturdy box with instructional manual, battery (CR123), lens cleaning cloth, allen wrenches (2 sizes, 1 for aim adjustment, 1 for mounting), and the sight itself.
The sight mounted onto my AR very easily and securely. I was able to tighten down on the screws without stripping anything. 4 reticles to choose from and the selector knob was easy to turn but does click satisfying into place. On the right side of the sight is the brightness/color selector knob, which can be turned in either direction for bright red -> dim red -> off -> bright green -> dim green -> off. The knob does "click" into either off positions to let you know it had turned off. I really like the extended lens housing that affords additional shielding for the lens and to block out some of the glare. I was able to zero the sight easily using the included small allen wrench, and as far as I can tell, it was able to aim at the same spot painted by my laser bore-sight. The reticle is easily acquired when I raise the AR. I have NOT had a chance to test this sight while shooting yet, and will come back to edit the review to note whether it will hold zero under recoil. But for now, the initial impressions point to a quality and affordable product that will suit many sports enthusiasts out there well.

I have used it the last couple of weeks shooting steel on my tcr/22 at our local club. It can be BRIGHT outside here with the snow, especially if the sun comes out. With the green (red is nice on the indoor range, but a complete no go outdoors) on max power, the sight is visible, subtle, but for me it is completely usable. 42 out of 48 plates (4") at varying distances...on the clock. I tied for 1st...out of 5. :)
The different choices of reticles are nice, the plain dot is ok, and I found the others very interesting. I think i like the circle around the dot the best. Kinda gives a playstation feel to shooting a real gun...super fun.
Battery life for me has been fine, granted, i havent had it that long, but the afternoons out with it were in the single digits, temperature wise...which also concerned me. After one shoot i accidentally left it on overnight, when i remembered in the morning....it was still going strong. And i have used it several times since then and there seem to be no ill effects. No loss of brightness or zero.
Overall, I'm impressed. To be fair, the expectations weren't too high. But I think this is worth the risk. Unless you get a lemon...it is a solid unit. Now, posting the review...that is the dangerous part...i could be jinxing myself. But even if it did crap out now (i dont see that happening)... it would have almost paid for itslef.
